ASQ
Ages & Stages Questionnaire Domains
ASQ-3 is a developmental screening tool that detects progress in children between the ages of 2 months and 5 years of age. This helpful tool helps shed light on the successes children experience when developing in the first five years. ASQ-3 covers 5 domains, which are:
Fine Motor
the use of small muscles such as hands and fingers
Gross Motor
the use of large muscles and other characteristics such as balance and spatial awareness
Problem Solving
cognitive skills and the ability to find solutions.
Communication
the way a child is understanding and using language or signs to interact with people around them
Personal Social
the capacity to interact with others, understand the world around us, and take care of oneself.
Social Emotional
ASQ: SE-2 is a screening tool completely focused on social-emotional development. This includes understanding behaviors, interaction with self and others, and a place to voice caregiver concerns.
Ages & Stages Questionnaire
The Family Resource Centre offers ASQ for all families ages 2 months to 5 years a questionnaire for all developmental milestone. These help keep your child on track of development and easy to fill out together or on your own. The Family Resource Centre can provide activities to continue learning in the areas outlined or refer the child to a professional in our community if they need extra help.
For children who are 24 months to 36 months there is Learn and Play Developmental boxes to be borrowed to build the skills further.
